Why Dragon 3D?
Well.. I like dragons, I like 3D animation. Why not put them together?

Dragon3d.net was a replacement domain name after a company wanted to buy my exordia.com. Five years later I was able to get it back! Check out my site: www.exordia.com

Dragon 3D was set up for contract work in graphic design and animation and is solely owned and operated by me, Alison K. Rathbun.

About this site:
This version of the site was created with the theme of Celtic Design, in particular knots and key patterns. Since there can be large number of different knot variations on the same basic shape I have randomized the design images each time the page loads. These elements were largely designed in Adobe Illustrator 9.0

About Me
I am an only child born and raised in the Seattle area. I knew at the age of 14 that I wanted to be a 3D computer animator after watching the video "The Mind's Eye."

Taking classes in High School in computer graphics and video production, I did everything I could to learn about 3d animation and computer graphics. I headed straight for at the Art Institute of Seattle where I majored in 3D Computer Animation.

Shortly after finishing my degree, I started working as a Graphic Artist for UWTV creating graphics for video. It was there where I perfected my Photoshop skills, and learned other programs for video and presentation graphics.

For eight years I worked both for UWTV and independently creating 3d graphics for medical visualization, creating in-stadium graphics for the Seahawks and Huskies, designing namekeys for programs and cleaning up PowerPoint presentations for use in lectures recorded for television.

However, I soon realized that what I really wanted to do was Architectural Visualization. So I started college again this time at Lake Washington Technical College in their Architectural Graphics degree program. During my time there I learned AutoCAD and discovered a marvelous little program called SketchUp.

I am now working as an independent contractor for architects in the greater Seattle area, as well as, offering my services as a Photoshop tutor and image restoration specialist.

I am pictured here with Darsh the Dragon a character from a story I wrote many years ago. Darsh is featured in my Art Institute of Seattle portfolio.

Another reason for adding this About Me page to my web site is to add a few non-career oriented pages to feature some of my other hobbies:

Constructed Languages
World Building
Fractals / Terragen
